All you gotta do is take your pick, as being a homebody had never been this much fun, thanks to the variety of online home entertainment. Now, let’s be honest, if there was ever a time in the history of the world (up to this point, of course) to be forced to stay at home thanks to a world pandemic (and believe me, this is never a good thing) it had to be right now.

How would you have liked to have been stuck at home back in the 1970’s (or at any point before that decade) with no smartphones, no Internet, no Smart TV’s, no VCR’s, no cable TV, no Blue-Rays or DVD’s, no video games and having to keep yourself busy with 3 or 4 TV channels and a few radio stations? The 1980’s and 1990’s were not that much better, although they did offer cable TV, video games and the chance to either rent or buy movies to watch at home. Heck, even the 2000’s were no picnic, up until certain Websites and online stream services came along.

Having said all this, the point is that, even in these tough and adverse times when it seems as if lockdown mode is never going to end, we must learn to appreciate all the online home entertainment options that we have at our disposal. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a movie buff and you can’t seem to get enough of watching films on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime Video, or if you’re able to binge-watch all the episodes and seasons of your favorite series in a couple of days, the point is that you have content galore.

Of course, there’s always surfing the Internet with its seeming limitless search options to find anything your heart desires, thus putting all the information in the world at the palm of your hands. Or, perhaps you’re more of a music freak and you enjoy watching and listening to your favorite videos on YouTube and putting together your playlist on Spotify in order to kill time. It could also be that you’re just a very social person and enjoy chatting or doing video calls with your friends on your phone, or checking your favorite apps to stay in touch with the latest scoops.

The best part of all this is that, if you’re looking to take full advantage of this time at home, all the aforementioned options can help you hone your English language skills and help you become a more rounded and bilingual person. With options such as KOE’s Fast & Easy English Language Program Series for native Spanish-speakers who want to learn how to speak this beautiful and necessary language, you should be able to maximize your quarantine experience and become a citizen of the world because you made the most of it and became an English speaker. It would just come down to this question: What’s your pleasure?

Alfredo E.
