  • Alice: Hi, Laura. Do you want to go shopping with me? I need to buy a new dress and some shoes for the party on Saturday.
  • Laura: Sure, Alice. I love shopping. Where do you want to go?
  • Alice: Let’s go to the mall. There are many stores there.
  • Laura: OK, let’s go.

(They arrive at the mall and enter a clothing store)

  • Salesperson: Hello, ladies. Welcome to our store. Can I help you with anything?
  • Alice: Hi, thank you. We are just looking around.
  • Salesperson: OK, feel free to browse. If you need any assistance, just let me know.

(Alice and Laura look at the clothes on display)

  • Alice: Look at this dress, Laura. It’s so beautiful. And it’s on sale.
  • Laura: Wow, it is beautiful. And it’s your favorite color: purple.
  • Alice: Yes, it is. Do you think it would suit me?
  • Laura: Of course, it would. You have a great figure.
  • Alice: Thank you. You are so kind. I’m going to try it on.
  • Laura: Good idea.

(Alice goes to the fitting room and tries on the dress)

  • Alice: How do I look, Laura? Laura: You look amazing, Alice. The dress fits you perfectly.
  • Alice: Really? I’m glad you like it.
  • Laura: I love it. And it matches your eyes.
  • Alice: Thank you. You are such a good friend.
  • Laura: You’re welcome. Are you going to buy it?
  • Alice: Yes, I think so. How much is it?
  • Laura: Let me see the tag. It’s $50.
  • Alice: That’s not bad for such a nice dress.
  • Laura: No, it’s not. It’s a bargain.

(Alice goes to the cashier and pays for the dress)

  • Salesperson: Thank you for your purchase, ma’am. Here is your receipt.
  • Alice: Thank you very much. Salesperson: Have a nice day.

(Alice and Laura leave the clothing store and enter a shoe store)

  • Salesperson: Hello, ladies. Welcome to our store. Can I help you with anything?
  • Alice: Hi, thank you. We are looking for some shoes to match this dress.
  • Salesperson: Oh, that’s a lovely dress. What kind of shoes are you looking for?
  • Alice: I’m not sure. Maybe some heels or some flats.
  • Salesperson: Well, we have a wide selection of shoes in different styles and colors. What size are you?
  • Alice: I’m size 7.
  • Salesperson: OK, follow me please.

(The salesperson shows Alice some shoes)

  • Salesperson: How about these shoes? They are very elegant and comfortable.
  • Alice: They are nice, but they are too black for my dress.
  • Salesperson: I see. How about these ones? They are silver and have some glitter on them.
  • Alice: They are pretty, but they are too flashy for my taste.
  • Salesperson: I understand. How about these ones? They are purple and have some flowers on them.
  • Alice: They are perfect! They match my dress exactly.
  • Salesperson: Great! Do you want to try them on?
  • Alice: Yes, please.

(Alice tries on the shoes)

  • Alice: They fit me well. And they are very comfortable.
  • Laura: They look great on you, Alice. They complement your dress very well.
  • Alice: Thank you, Laura. You are very helpful.
  • Laura: You’re welcome. Are you going to buy them?
  • Alice: Yes, I am. How much are they?
  • Salesperson: They are $40. Alice: That’s reasonable for such nice shoes.
  • Laura: Yes, it is. You are getting a good deal.

(Alice goes to the cashier and pays for the shoes)

  • Salesperson: Thank you for your purchase, ma’am. Here is your receipt.
  • Alice: Thank you very much. Salesperson: Have a nice day.

(Alice and Laura leave the shoe store)

  • Alice: I’m so happy with my new dress and shoes, Laura. Thank you for coming with me.
  • Laura: You’re welcome, Alice. I’m happy for you too. You are going to look stunning at the party.
